Frosty Fest has become one of Brantford’s anchor, annual events seeing several thousand attend annually during Ontario’s Family Day weekend in February. Some of the event highlights include professional ice carving, horse-drawn trolley rides, ball hockey, an artisans’ bazaar, figure skating shows, a street midway by Campbell Amusements, inflatables, a snow slide, free skating and pony rides. The indoor warm-zone at the Market Square Mall is operational during all kinds of weather with activities including a superhero party with Freedom House’s Captain Kindness and a princess party. And, of course there will be yummy, frosty, festival type food available for purchase such as snow taffy, funnel cakes, and Nutella-covered bacon.
“The watershed moment in the transformation of our downtown.” ~ Mayor Chris Friel
“If you catch just the right moment, you’ll find yourself in a Normal Rockwell painting. You’ll get lost in the mesmerizing art of ice carving having long-buried memories unearthed from eating snow taffy like your great grandfather used to make, while children ice skate in the gentle snow. This place in time exists in Brantford. It’s found at Frosty Fest.” ~ Dave Carrol
“There didn’t used to be a Frosty Fest that drew people together celebrate the Family Day Weekend in Harmony Square. But now there is! That many families together celebrating winter is absolutely magical. The story of Frosty Fest is the story of how nothing can become something, and how something can become something transformational” ~ Brian Beattie
As a part of The Kindness Project, and to ensure that everyone can enjoy Frosty Fest, elementary school students in Brantford receive a coupon for a Free ride and a Free pancake breakfast.
We will do our best to keep everything operational but weather is unpredictable. Rides that won’t be physically impeded by the cold will continue. This will be on a case-by-case basis. Please watch the Frosty Fest Facebook page for any updates.
